Imitators of God

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children” Ephesians 5:1. 

Despite the fact imitation sounds unnatural; all children learn things from their parents by imitating them. This is how you learn the language, what is good and bad, what you should do and what shouldn’t and many more. The same can be said about learning from God our Father. You imitate Him. You start by studying how He thinks and adopting His way of thinking, then you go on to His speaking and you copy that too. You end up by making His habits your habits and so transform with all of your behavior.

Worthy of the Calling

„I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace“ Ephesians 4:1-3.

There has to be a reaction from us to what Jesus has done for us. We have to walk worthy of the calling. You can be indifferent and live light minded in this sinful world and be like any other person of the world who does not know Jesus. Or you can think about your salvation daily, meditate on the Word of God and live with a humble attitude and unity with your brothers and sisters. This kind of attitude will help you to live in this world, yet not to be defiled by the world. Let’s pray that the Lord would help us to do it.
