Perfect in him

Colossians 2:10: “and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Fullness in this verse basically means perfection. Christ is the only way to achieve it. We have to abide in him if we expect to reach it. The only perfect human being that ever walked on the face of the earth was Jesus. Ok, Adam and Eve were too before the fall. No other one was perfect in a real sense of word. However, as God sees us through the sacrifice of Christ we may attain perfection. At least, we should try to go after it. As we attempt to follow Jesus and stay in his words we are well into becoming perfect in the eyes of God. Why? Because if you are in him you are like him. It means you are perfect. Good luck with that.

Hope in Heaven

Colossians 1:5: “the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel”.

Hope is always connected to the future. Faith is now. We need faith daily. However, if we fail to keep hope daily we will become weak pretty soon. Faith helps us much on the short term perspective. It helps us today. Faith does not look tomorrow. Hope does. We need to develop our perspective on everything in life from both short term and long term perspectives. You can be tossed like a wave here and there if you do not know what to do now. But you will lose motivation and inspiration very fast if you do not look ahead. You have hope in Heaven. That should help you keep you strong and inspired as well as motivated throughout your entire life. God bless you!

Holy Spirit testimony

Romans 8:16: “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

One way to understand that you are a child of God is by reading the Bible. It is there. It is in the Bible. The Book testifies about the fact that you are born again and can righteously be called the son (or the daughter) of God. That is the most solid testimony that you can have about being part of the family of God.

The second very important testimony that is also very strong is the testimony of the Holy Spirit. If you are born again the Spirit of God lives in you and testifies to you about your nature. He calms you down and gives assurance that you are the child of God. Blessed be his holy name.

Carnal and spiritual thinking

Romans 8:6: “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Only two kinds of thinking dominate in the world today. One is carnal and the other is spiritual. Carnal thinking is oriented on sinful lusts and desires, while spiritual thinking is based on spiritual desires, the word and the will of God. People who are not born again will definitely be ruled by carnal type of thinking. Christians that are filled with the Holy Spirit have great chances to think spiritually if they are willing to do so. They can do this, because the Spirit lives in them and gives them his thoughts. Therefore, let us think spiritually.

Dead to sin

Romans 6:1: “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?”

So, shall we? Grace set us free from the power of sin. Being free how can we continue staying in sin? No way! Let the grace increase and sin decrease. We do not want to be slaves to sin. Every Christian should consider himself to be dead to sin. A dead person cannot be tempted. He does not feel any lures of sin. He cannot be deceived. Being dead to sin is an attitude that we should have in our minds. Then will grace increase and our sins decrease.

Sealed with the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:13-14: “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

For ages the saints have been waiting for God to pour his Holy Spirit into the land. Finally, it has become a reality in Christ. After resurrection He sent the Holy Ghost to the first disciples and the were baptized in the spirit on the day of Pentecost. This promise now belongs to anyone who is converted to Christianity. You can have God Himself inside of you. What a promise and privilege to be a sanctuary of the living God. It shows that you are his property and the evil one cannot touch you.

Hope does not disappoint

Roman 5:5: “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”

People scorn hope. They do not value it. Most do not believe that hope is effective and necessary. It is! It makes our hearts softer. It allows us to be optimists by looking to the future and seeing it bright. It also helps us to forget our current or past troubles and helps us to believe that they will finish soon. So, embrace the hope that God gives you and do not be disappointed.

Two realities

Romans 4:17: “As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

I want to draw your attention to the end of the worse. It says something about our God. He calls things into being that were not. God lives in invisible reality. We live in the visible one. Those that simply follow their five senses have no awareness of what is not visible. Christians try to pattern their father (God). They often call things that are not (visible) as though they were. And they really are. And one day it becomes a fact.

All under power of sin

Romans 3:9: “What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.”

God is no respecter of persons. All humanity has fallen into sin in his eyes. There are no better or worse races. All nations and every single person are under the power of sin. It is hard to believe, but it is the truth. Some people commit bigger some smaller sins, but these things are still sins: crimes before God. This idea also leads us to a conclusion that all of us need forgiveness for whatever sins we have committed: big or small.

Goodness of God leads to repentance

Romans 2:4: “Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Christians want to know how to repent and what helps us to repent. This excerpt states very clearly that God’s goodness leads us to repentance. When you see how merciful and good God is you do not want to do things He does not like and you repent of them. You cannot force yourself to repent. No, repentance is the gift of God. It is a sovereign act of the Holy Spirit. He reveals to us what is wrong with us and causes us to regret that. We simply have to submit ourselves to this revelation and repent.

Lord laughs from mockers

Psalm 2:4: “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.”

From times immemorial Satan wanted to dethrone God. He used his people to destroy Bible, persecute Christians, but He has always failed. And he will fail again and again till one day find himself in the lake of fire. The same will happen to those who conspire together with the devil against God and his people. God knows about their plans, He sees their hatred and arrogance and laughs from them. He destroys their plans. Neither Satan, nor his people will ever be able to resist God. They would better stop and submit themselves to the good, perfect and awesome will of God.

Jesus took our transgressions pain and diseases

Isaiah 53:4-5: “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

The world is suffering from its’ sins, pain and diseases. It is all part of Adam’s and Eve rebellion against God in the Garden of Eden. The world has been sold to slavery. However, Jesus took upon himself the entire curse that has been on our shoulders and put on his own. He took our punishment so that we could live free from all the above mentioned things. I am so grateful to God for that. He has redeemed me. I am free from sin in Christ. I believe that. He took my pain too. If you are in pain remember that Jesus paid for your pain so that you could be free. Trust him for that. He also took on himself all of your diseases. Very few Christians believe that is part of redemption. It is. Read all of the chapter of Isaiah 53 and you will see it for yourself. Glory to God!

God gives security and peace

Psalm 4:8: “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Peace and security are ultimate targets for most people. Nobody wants to live in worry and anxiety, troubled by unfavorable circumstance, unrest and financial instability. But where can you find the thing you want so much. The Bible says that only God can give real security and peace. Other ways of getting those will not help or will not be long lasting at best. So, are you sleeping well? If not it is high time to make God your Lord and Savior and start trusting him.

The way the truth and the life

John 14:6: “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Contrary to popular modern beliefs of a lot of ways to one God Jesus says that He is the only one way. He is the only real truth and He is the only real eternal life. Whatever you imagine all ways that seem to lead you to God initially, turn out to be wrong ways that lead you to eternal death. Do not be deceived. Real Christians stand for what they believe even unto death. Those that promote popular modern ideas hardly every stand that much for what they believe. Millions of Christians have died and are dying for their master even today. Hardly any modern secular person would die for his beliefs. Why? Because his beliefs are for his comfort, not for what truth really is.

Lamp unto my feet

Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

This verse is from the longest psalm in the book of Psalms. It talks about the function of the word of God. It shines for you. The world is in spiritual darkness. People think that they see, but they really do not. They are blinded by the lusts, pride and vanity of the world. Only the word of God can show you the way in this dark world. When you read it, it shows you which way to go and which paths are to be avoided.

Read it daily so that you could walk in the light daily. If you want you could even memorize some of the scriptures that you find to be very important. Learn them by heart and quote for yourself every day. You will be strengthened and encouraged.

Prepare the way

Isaiah 40:30: “A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”

Our God does not walk crooked paths. We often do. Now, if we want to walk with the Lord we have to straighten our paths. He neither proud, nor suffers from complex of inferiority. Neither should we. Christian walk demands changes on our behalf. We cannot live with one foot in the world and with the other in the kingdom of God. God is not a hypocrite and we cannot be if we expect to please him. Let us prepare the way for Jesus to come.

Being an atheist is foolish

Psalm 14:1: “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.”

World is proud of its scientists. These are often called experts when it comes to answering some complicated question that needs empirical proof. However, a lot of what we know of as empirical proof is only a hypothesis. It is only a ‘maybe’ idea. Some tried to prove that God does not exist. They die and stand before the One they tried to negate face to face. All universe preaches to us saying that there is an intelligent mind behind all creation and all Christians know who He is. So, do not be foolish. Pick up a Bible and find empirical evidence for yourself. Pray to him and He will prove you his power, love and everything He is.

Great faith

Luke 7:9: “When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.”

Few of us have great faith. Most of us have great doubts. We run to all possible sources for help and treat God as last insurance who pays premium at your death in case nothing else works. No wonder there are very few miracles in churches nowadays. Our faith is weak. We rely on our five senses and believe only what we see. To tell the truth we should hardly be called believers, because believing doctrines and affirm to them in your mind is not a big deal. We have to learn to trust God on daily basis in various problematic situations. That is how we make our faith great.

Hope of glory

Colossians 1:27: “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Prophets of the Old Testament were waiting for this hope of glory and died without achieving that. They waited for redemption and miracle of miracles that God will come and start living in a human being by means of his spirit. When the spirit comes he regenerates us and changes our nature. He removes our sinful desires and puts new nature inside of us and we become children of God. If you haven’t become a Christian, do it now and you will experience the change too.

God sees everything

Hebrews 4:13: “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Our God sees everything. You can try to hide something from him in the deepest depths of the ocean and you will not be successful. So why hide anything? Let us not do it. If we sin we can confess those to our God and He will forgive us, because He is gracious and merciful. His eyes are not evil.

Jesus bore our sins and healed us

1 Peter 2:24: He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

People try to redeem their sins by doing good works or punishing themselves by one way or another. They even think that as time goes by their evil works somehow are forgiven. Unfortunately, it is not true. Time does not forgive our sins. God does! Jesus took your sins and nailed them to the cross of Calvary. Asking Jesus for forgiveness is the only way to have your sins forgiven. Not only that! He healed your diseases too. How? By means of his wounds. Only believe and you will see this miracle happening.
